The zip-blind difference

Shade that stays put — even in wind & rain.

Outdoor zip blinds (Screeny GPZ) are fabric blinds whose edges run inside zipped side tracks, sealing out sun, rain, dust and insects while you keep the view. Of all the outdoor blinds in Malaysia, a zip blind is the most weather-sealed — the Storm range is wind-rated to class 6, turning a balcony or patio into a usable, sheltered room.

Ordinary blinds flap and let the weather in. The Sol Devona Screeny GPZ runs inside a 130mm cassette with zip-guided side tracks, so the screen stays sealed against wind-driven rain, dust and insects — while a see-through mesh keeps your view and cuts the heat, glare and UV. The storm-rated Screeny Storm 130 holds firm to wind class 6 via a Secure Wind Block tensioning system — a balcony, patio or alfresco you can actually use in any weather, all year. Also available in premium Serge Ferrari Soltis 302 fabric, from Malaysia's exclusive dealer.

FAQ

Common questions

What are outdoor zip blinds?
Outdoor zip blinds (Screeny GPZ) are fabric blinds whose edges run inside zipped side tracks, sealing the gaps. They keep out sun, rain, dust and insects while you can still see through, turning a patio or balcony into a usable, sheltered space.
Can zip blinds handle strong wind and rain?
Yes. The Storm range is wind-rated to class 6 with a secure tensioning system, so it holds firm in gusts and driving rain far better than ordinary blinds.
How much do outdoor zip blinds cost in Malaysia?
Price depends on size, fabric and motorisation, so we quote per space after a free site visit. As manufacturer and installer we keep it competitive.
Are they motorised?
They can be motorised with remote and optional sensors, or manual crank for smaller openings.
How much does a zip blind cost in Malaysia?
The price of a zip blind in Malaysia depends on the opening size, the fabric or mesh you pick, and whether it's manual or motorised with sensors. Larger spans need stronger side channels and a bigger tube, and clear PVC or blockout fabrics differ from mesh screens. We quote each opening exactly after a free site visit rather than quoting a rate that may not fit your space.
What's the difference between a zip blind and a normal roller blind?
A zip blind (zipscreen) locks the fabric edges into side tracks with a zipper-style keder, so the screen can't blow out of the channel in wind and there are no side gaps for insects or rain spray. A standard outdoor roller blind runs on cables or guides and is less wind-stable. For exposed patios, the zip system is the more secure choice.
Are outdoor zip blinds good for Malaysian weather?
Yes — zip blinds are well suited to Malaysia. Mesh fabrics cut glare and heat while keeping the view and airflow; blockout or clear PVC options give rain protection so you can use the space during a downpour. The tracked, tensioned design resists our gusty pre-monsoon winds better than open-sided blinds. We'll match the fabric to how you use the area.
How do I choose the right outdoor zip blind fabric?
Choose by what you want the blind to do. Mesh screens (varying openness) reduce sun and heat while preserving airflow and outward view — ideal for daytime living areas. Blockout fabrics give privacy and full shade. Clear or tinted PVC keeps rain out while staying transparent. We show samples on site and recommend based on orientation and use.
Is Noventa a manufacturer or just a reseller?
We are a Malaysian manufacturer and installer, and an authorised KE, Gennius and Somfy dealer. We measure, fabricate and fit with our own team, and back it with real warranty.
